Aromatherapy is an ancient art in a modern age. As a method of holistic treatment Aromatherapy is a science of the therapeutic uses of pure aromatic substances . . . essential oils. Distilled from the flowers, stems, leaves, roots or fruit of the plant essential oils are the most potent form for herbal use. These vital substances have a large variety of beneficial properties anti-virals, anti-fungals and anti-bacterials among others. They are extremely complex organic substances made up of hundreds of chemical components. Essential oils are readily absorbed through the skin and aid in the healing of muscle aches, digestive upsets, circulatory problems, and menstrual difficulties. Join us to discover the magic, mystery and medicine that is Aromatherapy.

Come & learn what Aromatherapy is and how it compares and integrates with other holistic therapies. In this course students will learn the foundations of Holistic Aromatherapy. We will learn how to select, blend, and administer oils for health-care, massage and first aid as well as for calming the mind and nourishing the spirit.

Keynote

Scent, Spirit and Science
with Mindy Green, M.S., A.H.G., R.A.

Essential oils contain powerful chemical constituents to heal the physical body, but through the olfactory process we also connect to the scents of nature. Dis-ease at its most basic core (the emotional level) occurs through the perception of separation of our deep connection to Spirit. Aroma is the link between Spirit and Matter, between what is physical and what is unseen. It taps our deepest emotions and carries us to our oldest memories. Through plant aroma, we are offered something less concrete but just as real - the opportunity to connect to nature, our own source energy and create our own spiritual wholeness and Wellth. Essential oils can heal us at both a cellular and spiritual level, weaving the two into a wholeness that is undeniable and inseparable. This keynote lecture will touch on what modern science knows about plant chemistry; the process of olfaction, and how scent affects us physically and emotionally.
